Paradise Found

I am almost lost for words so forgive me that this is mostly piccies.  This is a post about a very special place, a place I believe could be heaven on earth.  Thank you to our lovely friends Katie and Michael for sharing their wedding day with us yesterday.

Come with me to Iona...

:: blink :: blink :: Is this for REAL!? Are you sure you weren't in some far away kingdom? This is what dreams are made of. =)

Yes Allison, now that I'm back home, I've come back down to earth with a very big bump! Thanks so much for your comment, I'm off to bed now to dream of beautiful white beaches.

I think I know where you guys will be going on your summer hols now!!! Isn't it just amazing - I couldn't get over how clear the water is, and what a beautiful day you had for the wedding!! Loved the Choos!!

Carol, The white cottage is absolutely beautiful...Can't wait for my hols now. It really is a paradise. Where is the photo of you? J x

Are you sure this isn't a Coutnry Living feature! What a gorgoeus event, understated and fabulous all at the same time. Looks like you had a smashing time Carol in a wonderufl place. I am not in the least jealous?!?! And I would love that house please.
Did you do the hat thing?
Stephx

Hi Steph, no I didn't do the hat thing but I did have a bit of a 1940's thing going on with my outfit. Think you might have inspired that! My red patent t-bar shoes were very much admired! There was so much going on I didn't even get a pic of them! ;)

Wow, what a fab wedding, if only I could do it all over again!!! Love your photos, especially that house! Haven't been to Iona for years, it's such a wonderful place.

We have friends whose grandparents bought one of the quarry houses on Mull overlooking Iona - they spend their summers there living off grid, and basking on those beautiful white beaches.
We used(pre-school holidays)to spend much of May on Mull/Iona in celebration of my birthday - the weather was always fabulous, the light amazing and the trips to Staffa to see the puffins ...
Seeing your photos I think that this will be a tradition to return to once school holidays no longer frame our years.

A friend of mine thought Iona such a beautiful place that she named her daughter after it.

How very lovely especially looking so untouched and peaceful-definately the perfect escape!
